A huge thank you to all the women who offered their advice to me re infant 
scales. It was so amazing to see all the thoughtful and detailed messages 
that came flooding in. I have bitten the bullet and ordered the Tanita. 
Since a lot of my knowledge is still text-book driven and Riordan is not a 
huge fan of test-weighing under most circumstances, I wasn't sure I needed 
the super-accurate scale, but you all have convinced me otherwise. I also 
can't empahasize enough what an extraordinary feeling it is, to be 
connected, through the magic of cyberspace, to such a committed bunch of 
brainy broads (and it seems a few brainy dudes too).
