Dear Mandy,

It seems as though both you and your interviewees are not too familiar with human growth patterns. The children you mentioned that breastfeed longer than the apparent societal norm, are, in fact, within very normal parameters.

Figure it this way - if older kids are breastfeeding and it bothers someone, the person can look the other way or leave the area. The kid could be screaming, yelling, throwing a fit and really creeping you out. The mom could be flipping out because the kid is make her nuts - all suffer. I will take a child who is calm any time.

If nothing else, breastfeeding keeps the little ones quiet and happy. It gives them self confidence and helps them be better adults.

Americans have enough sexual problems as it is, your article confims this. Perhaps all of this breast fetish came about because women stopped breastfeeding their children in the US.

Instead of making fun of celebrities for long term breastfeeding you should be happy they are doing this and can perhaps serve as role models to their fans

The trouble with stirring the pot articles such as yours is that they really do a lot of damage to women.I would suggest that you think a few steps ahead and examine what you know and your beliefs. Also, really listen to what people are saying and where it is coming from.

Journalists are valuable parts of society and can do so much to help others. This artilce was a waste of your talents.
