When I read Judy's post saying...
<<since I became IBCLC I have not been allowed to attend Career Day at my
children's school, unless I am willing to talk about my other career as a
Physical Therapist.>>

I was dismayed, and could hold back no longer. Several months ago I was
invited to talk to the entire fifth grade at my daughter's school during
"Family Life" curriculum on development of babies and breastfeeding.

It went VERY well. BUT, the big payoff was at the school's music program
about 2 weeks later. One of the songs the fifth grade did was
"Possibilities" and about half the students dressed as what they wanted to
be when they grew up. One of the girls had on a white lab coat and was
carrying a doll baby. After the show, her mother explained. "AFter hearing
your presentation, Meredyth decided she wants to be a lactation
consultant."

I'm flattered. Hope y'all are too! In case you're wondering...yes, Meredyth
was a breastfed baby.
