Depends on how "newborn", how yellow :-) and how wet and dirty the diapers!!
If baby is a week or two old, has sufficient wet and dirty diapers and is
past jaundice, I say Bless them if they sleep 3-5 hours at a stretch at
night.  I don't totally  believe in letting very newborns decide when to
eat, sometimes they need some good, motherly judgement on when they need to
eat again,  until we are sure they have the hang of the whole thing
(sufficient wet and dirty diapers, growing and thriving)  Sincerely, Pat in
