Hello to all! I have been reading all of the wonderful posts for about a
month now. It took a good friend to convince me, I HAD to get hooked up on
the computor, and then also LACTNET! Anyways, I am an LLL Leader and also a
Certified Lactation Educator. Our family lives and breathes breastfeeding.
My children and husband have become used to all of the meetings, phone
calls, and home or hospital visits.
We recently took on a newborn in our home as a foster baby. Everyone loves
having him, except of course for the feeding issue. My seven year old son
refuses to bottle feed the little guy, because as he states, over and over
again, "that stuff stinks, why can't you just give him breast milk?" I wish I
could, but unfortunately, I have not nursed a child for a year and a half, and
I was only given two hours notice that he was coming home with us, thus no
opportunity to pump. The other issue would be with the powers at be, they
would just FREAK out if I ever thought of doing that!!!! The baby will
probably be going to his adoptive parents in about ten days, and I have warned
them that their little bundle of joy has become very fond of our attachment
parenting style, and that they will not only get a baby, but also a sling!
Good bye to all!
