Thank you so much for the responses thus far both off list and posted.
I will pass the information on to mom.

Just to answer a few questions regarding my client. Her baby has not
been sick at all, gained weight beautifully, very healthy happy little
girl who has met all her milestones on target. She is a happy, smiley
faced girl. Mom had never used cereals with Katie when she started her
on solids. Mom discovered the allergy when she gave her baby a yogurt
parfait from McDonald's (a fast food restaurant ) Katie loves yogurt and
was doing very well eating it until mom added the granola that comes
with it. Mom had never given Katie any granola before. Almost
immediately, while she was still eating the parfait, Katie began to
develop hives all over her face and neck. Of course things progressed
from there... a pediatrician urgent visit, and allergist visit, testing
... Mom strongly felt it was the oats in the granola, I seem to recall
her saying something about why she knew it was oats but what it was
escapes me at this time. However the allergist doubted it until they
tested her and saw how severe the reaction was. She has tested negative
for everything else. Mom has been given epi pens and training.

Again, thanks to all that responded to my request.

Warmly,

Pam Price
