If a baby truly needs to be supplement, and is taking the breast, it
is far better to do it with a lactation aid, rather than cup or
anything else.  Babies learn to breastfeed by breastfeeding.
Furthermore, they are not separated from their babies during feedings,
as it sounds they may be in your postpartum unit.

However, I think it is wrong to supplement when adjusting of position
and latch and breast compression will often obviate the "necessity" of
supplements. This is the first step.
