To all the Lactnuts who attended the Lactation Associates conference, I have
a special post script to the end of the day. Soon after you left a woman was
carried into the hotel, obviously in pain. I was sitting in the lobby waiting
for Jack Newman and my husband to arrive for dinner. I thought the woman had
slipped on the ice (which was about an inch thick at that point!). She was
carried into the restaurant and placed on the floor, but her painful sounds
continued. I sat for a few more minutes until I realized what I was hearing
(where have I heard this before?)

Yes, she was in labor. As the fire fighters dashed in, I called Dr. Jack who
came down and under his watchful eyes we had the privilege of topping off our
day with a lovely birth. Half an hour later we entered the birthing room--I
mean the restaurant for dinner.

The reporters came and interviwed us and we made the front page of the local
newspaper! How do you top that?!!
