Ok, wise women. I am stumped. A woman called me who claims to have
yeast-like growths UNDER her breasts. She has been told the following:
a) use more soap when washing/showering
b) do NOT use soap when washing/showering
c) take FEWER showers/baths (apparently on the assumption that the moisture
makes it worse)
d) take MORE showers/baths (apparently on the assumption she needs to bathe
more often!)
e) use any topical yeast killer (but she doesn't know what they might be
and I am stumped on this, too, except for gentian violet. Has anyone used
it for places other than the baby's mouth and (subsequently) mother's
nipples?)

She tried alcohol and nearly jumped out the window when one of the areas of
growth had a "crack" in it (her description; I did not see this to confirm)

Possibly important, but unsure. She is not markedly, but normally,
large-breasted. She lives on a small (gentleman) farm, but has animals and
a large garden and works out there daily and also goes in for exercise that
leaves her sweaty. She wonders if her sweating in the sun, and when
exercising at gym and/or walking briskly for at least 60 min a day is
making things worse becauase she also sweats under breasts. She tried
going without a bra and rolling a piece of absorbent fabric (like a cloth
diaper, remember them?) under her breasts, but found it uncomfortable when
exercising, and it kept slipping out when working outside.

She wants to get rid of this stuff and her MDs (she has checked with two)
have given her nothing but a shoulder shrug in response to her requests.

Any ideas, anyone? I would like to help this mom. Many thanks in advance.
