When I attended the ILCA conference in Las Vegas a couple months ago, this 
topic of course was discussed.  In a very few cases ( I hope not your moms) 
The breasts become full and all looks normal, except no milk comes out.  Why? 
For a very few women, the breast ducts actually come to a "dead end" and 
never reach the nipple.  Very sad.  Apparently, the anatomy of a womens 
breast vary to such a degree that the ducts end in a blind pouch, the milk is 
reaborsbed, it just never makes it to the outside.  The odds are slim, but 
something to keep in mind if you find a situation like this.
