Diana says,

<<I'm actually under the impression that I would not be allowed to pump
during
the IBCLC exam if I needed to...is this true? I'm putting off applying to
sit next year (2008) because I'll have an 8-month old baby then, and will
definitely need to pump or feed the child...I'd rather wait until 2009 when
I can concentrate and not be so uncomfortable. Does anyone know about
this?>>

The exam runs from approximately 8 to 11:30 and 1 to 4:30. Or thereabouts.
You can pump just before the exam starts, and then when you finish in the
morning you can pump again. You have 2 1/2 hours of actual exam time -- most
people don't need that long -- there are only 100 questions in the am, and 100
in the pm. If you wanted to bring someone to have your baby with you, you
could feed just before the exam and then again at lunch, and then again as
soon as you were done in the afternoon -- or pump, which ever works. Even if
you are still nursing on average of every two hours, you can probably go 4
hours between pumpings.
