Ellen asked about breastfeeding and CFS and I wanted to comment even though
this is a bit tardy (trying to catch up on LN's!). I have CFS, and, while I
didn't develop it until my youngest was 7, I have had it now for 8 years and
have known a few people who also have it. One lady was a chaplain at a
hospital I used to work at (actually BOTH chaplains, a man and this woman
had it) had it and went on to have a healthy baby [some pregnancy
complications, but related more to weight (overwt.) and age (40!) than CFS].
She breastfed the child and, as I recall, had a lessening of symptoms for a
while. I don't remember for how long it lasted, and sorry, but don't even
remember how long she breastfed (< 1 yr) other than to say she didn't quit
b/c of CFS. Since CFS is thought to be an immune dysfunction problem, it
would make sense that she would want her baby to have the healthiest immune
system possible, which is what breastfeeding would give. Kathy D is right,
all those well-meaning people would be better directed to take care of and
feed HER, so that she can feed her baby!

Marsha, who guesses now you know why I mention my affinity for 3 day
weekends and sleeping in! ;-)
