Spoke with Mom last night after baby had been seen by the second M.D.
Baby has gained almost 2 lbs. this past month. Mom said she felt guilty
about having all the concerns about the baby (vomiting after feeds,
stooling, fussiness, etc.) after the baby had been weighed. She told the
Doctor the instructions she had been given by the first doctor re the
mineral oil, apple juice, and pedialyte. (First doctor's suggested she
stop b/f for 24 hours and supplement with pedialyte---and then if in 24
hours the baby "looks" dehydrated, go the ER). The second M.D. very
politely skirted the issue (professional courtesy?) and asked what I had
recommended and agreed with that.

Good news--the baby has been stooling regularly
Bad news--the baby still vomiting after feeds

Went over mom's diet again---No milk products, caffeine, chocolate---but
PEANUT BUTTER? Suggested she cut out the P.B. and see if that makes the
difference. I feel like Miss Marple from the Agatha Christie mysteries,
well actually more like a "Miss Mammary".
