It seems that the government in Indonesia has come to realise that they have
a problem in this area. The WBW theme from last year (breastfeed within the
first 30 mins) was really taken up and they are trying to educate. The video
at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9_KivNnEe0 is one example of efforts in
this area (before anyone posts picking apart some of the practices I'm just
posting to show the emphasis that is being placed on keeping mothers and
babies together and to let babies breastfeed- I'm not a midwife but I'm sure
there's lots to criticise).
You have to watch to the very end to get the song midwives use to remember
the 58 steps of normal delivery...it's a treat!
