Heather,  Hospitals give out free diaper bags because the formula companies
give them free formula for doing so, and the mothers walking around town with
these diaper bags are good advertisers for their brand of ABM.  One of my
nurse managers said, "With all my expenses in this department, I will never
pay for formula."  This supplies peds as well as maternity.  Yes, the mothers
do  ask for them.  They bring coupons sent to them in the mail.
