I have to put my $.02 in on this one.

 Had a mom call me last week who delivered with the help of a labor nurse who
attended CLC training with me (she's nursing her own and I know she knows what
she's doing)

This mom had reduction surgery so that she could nurse this baby -her words.
Breasts were so big that she couldn't nurse last two.  She initiated BF in
hospital with labor nurse's help. Experienced breast changes, engorgement &
dripping milk from opposite breast.

On the day of discharge the Post Partum Nurse told this mom (who was doing
fine) that her baby was at risk for FTT and that she would have to follow
every breastfeeding with a supplemental bottle to make sure that her baby
survived!!

When she called me (10 days later) she was BFq3hrs and following w/5oz ABM!!
Had questions about low supply and pump rental. Of course I referred her to
our IBCLC as I felt that She was better able to handle her supply issues.

This couplet sounds like they were doing great prior to discharge (yes I
called her Labor nurse and she agreed) So why interfere??? and look at the
results!!!!!!!!!!!!
