I also had some thoughts about your signs, Arly. About a month ago, I was
doing a hosp. consult with a Mom who was 6 days post-partum. She was
still in because of recurrent fever, she'd had a C/S and they did open the
wound just after I left that day. Anyway, the baby had never latched from
birth (of course she'd been bottle-fed first 24 hours) and was vociferously
refusing.

Well, we had just gotten the baby latched and she was feeding beautifully
when the RN walked in with a Lab. Tech. and said they needed to take a
blood sample because of the recurrent fever. I said I was sorry but this
was the first time this baby had latched in 6 days and they would just
have to wait 'til she was finished. I asked them if they could please come
back in 20 minutes. They both looked at me a little uncertainly at first
but turned around and left.

Sometimes medical personnel are the ones who interfere with breastfeeding
most!
