HI All,
I just have to ask, why didn't this mom take the compress off if it was too
hot?
I tell my clients to use warm wet compresses all the time. One of the
wuickest ways to heat up a wet/moist washcloth (and I have done this for
myself many times) is to throw it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds. I
tell mom to be careful not to get it too hot. "If it burns, it is too hot"
I tell them. "Take it off and let it cool down until it is really warm, but
not so hot that it burns."
This is common sense stuff here isn't it? When I had bilateral mastitis for
4 months I did warm wet compresses several times a day using the microwave.
I never once burned myself.

Who wonders if this poor gal just didn't realize that the compress was that
hot, or thought it had to be that hot in order to work.
