Dear All:

I was recently in a Savon picking up a prescription and as I had to wait I
leafed through the Little Pill Book on prominent display at the counter. I
believe it claims to be a #1 bestseller. It is quite shocking, not one,
that's right not one medication according to them is safe to take and
continue breastfeeding. The quote at the bottom of every medication is
Breastfeeding Mothers should consider bottle feeding. I mentioned it to the
Pharmacist and she gave me a blank stare. It is so sad that this 'bestseller'
will inevitably end breastfeeding for so many mums and babies.

Incidentally, Savon does have a lovely billboard that is all over the City
(Los Angeles and other places) that depicts a mother and baby co-sleeping
with the tag line "You will sleep better tonight knowing we are up all night."

You win one and you lose one. Maybe I will look 'into ' the Pill book now I
feel nudged.

Thanks all.

Elaine Robertson, IBCLC
