This book has been out in the UK for about a year.

The author - Clare Byam-Cook - has had some media coverage, and she
offers private consultations to mothers. She is quite expensive, and
has some celebrity clients.

She is a midwife and calls herself a breastfeeding counsellor but
none of the bf organisations in the UK recognise her.

She has publicly 'dissed' the bf support organisations, and has
misrepresented us more than once.

Her knowledge of bf is very poor. She gets many things wrong. So it's
just as well she is relaxed about giving formula, because many
mothers will end up doing just that when their breastfeeding goes
wrong on reading the book.

I have had a number of contacts from mothers who have read the book
and whose breastfeeding experience has been marred by following the
book.

I am dismayed she is reaching the US.
