I have been listening to a fascinating series of tapes by Caroline Myss
regarding the human energy system. She speaks in terms of the chakras (which
I am just beginning to learn about) and one of the points she makes over and
over again is that the heart (the feminine) and the Mind (the masculine) are
connected by the Will. We tend to get into trouble when we divide the mind
and the Heart. The Heart never lies to us. The Mind will tell us what we
want to hear and can play tricks on us. By aligning our heart, our will and
also our mind, we can reach untold potentials.

It is easy to see that the majority of corporate America tends to live by the
Mind alone. Worship of the Bottom Line at the expense of the most valuable
natural resource any company has (its human resources) leads to short term
success and long term problems. (One speaker on TQM called the process of
wholesale staff cutting to keep the bottom line healthy the same thing as
"wetting your pants to warm your tailbone -- it works in the short term.")

Breastfeeding advocates have heart. We listen to our hearts and empower our
wills to do the right thing. That is our real strength!!

Thanks, Kathy for sharing that there is another way to do business than to
just "use" people. Who knows -- if we start a movement to follow our hearts,
we may be able to heal this planet yet!
