Hi,

While moms and others often panic at "tinted" breast milk, there are
often simple reasons why the milk may take on a color. Greenish milk
can be due to iron supplements or other additives in vitamin supplements
or medications; the dyes from soft drinks; even overindulgence in a
favorite veggie (asparagus comes to mind and may also give the milk a
different flavor). If mom has had a plugged duct or breast infection,
the milk that is ejected from the plugged duct may be greenish or
yellowish in color. You might consider examining the woman's diet and
medications and see if something there might be coloring the milk. Is
baby nursing okay? This probably occurs rather often, but if nobody is
examining the milk, no one would ever know...
