I felt the thing was a stitch at the time -- when presented to the proper
audience it could be very effective anecdote.

Many times in my practice when a mom calls about her male doctor prescribing
the mid-evil tourture of binding to stop milk production.  I casually mention
to her that I don't think that there is ONE man out there who would do the
same to his as sensitive private parts to slow other types of secretory
production.  The I will explain more humane options for  stopping ones milk
production.

One of the things I like the best about lactnet is our ability to bring
together so many diverse personallities and Idea's. Perhaps if someone is
going to post something that is very long and might be concidered a bit over
the edge they might run the basic idea ( in the short form) past our fearless
leaders (kathy & kathy) before passing it on.

I myself after almost 20 years of breastfeeding interest, am open to just
about anything via private e-mail.  I find many prespectives can put a
refreshing slant on things -- even if they  would never cross my lips in my
actual practice.

That type of openess and sharing  of ideas has made this profession grow.
 Please remember that we are all part of a great bell curve of experiences
and sensibilities from all over the world.  Lets not be too hard on those
who's perspective does not exactily match our own, 5 years from now  we might
understand the humor that was intended.
