"I can find no smaller bottles that will fit the pump, than those we get from
the formula companyl for direct pumping. We use a silicone cup that comes
from the company that makes our pumps. Insert it into the bottle and thus we
can draw up the small amounts the mother makes in the first days form the
little cup."

In Australia, (and Norway and the UK, I understand) we do not use pumps at
all until there is a significant increase in milk volume. (Too much
precious colostrum is lost to the pump!) We teach mothers to hand express,
sometimes into sterile specimen jars, sometimes lying on our backs and
collecting the droplets as the bead on the nipple, sometimes into a spoon.
Search the research for the JHL article demonstrating that early, frequent
hand expressing yields more milk and brings in LII faster.
