Hi everyone
I was a bit behind in my posts (40 digests!!), and skipped a few
postings trying to catch up.
Is the erythromycin eye ointment a routine thing? And what is
Aquamephyton??
I don't think either is used in Australia routinely. With my 3
children, born 1988, 90 and 93, the only thing they got was Vit K.
My last child was given oral vit K because of the panic over the
relationship between vit K and cancer. As far as I remember, the
research was a bit shaky, and later analysis of this and other data
refuted the claim. Maybe others have a better memory of what exactly
went on. Vit K is given by injection again in Australia, unless
parents don't want it given.

On an unrelated subject, I saw a baby today who had been weaned onto
a cow's milk based formula at age 4 weeks. I saw baby age 8 weeks,
and mother told me how settled and happy baby was on the formula....
and then went on to worry about baby's eczema, sniffles, rashy bottom
and funny poo. A large mental AAAARRRGGH was all I could think of. I
just know I'll be seeing a lot of this little one :-(((
