Dear Barbara,
    The new name for the former Nursing Mothers' Association of Australia is *Australian Breastfeeding Association*.  At long last a name that nakes it clear that it is an organisation about *breastfeeding*, which the previous name didn't.  I understand that the previous two names (Nursing Mothers' Association, the first name, later changed to Nursing Mothers' Assoc of Australia) were chosen because the word "breastfeeding" couldn't be put in the telephone directory.  (Back then, the association was spelling it "breast-feeding" in its literature, anyway.)
    The new name and the abbreviation ABA seem to be catching on in the community, though some of my private clients referred by ABA still tell me the old name, others tell me they were referred by ABA.
