Dr. Palmer and others,
I am working with a mom who's sore nipples are still a daily occurrence,no
skin trauma for 6 weeks,an occasional horizontal pinched
look for a few instants after the feeding.
To me,baby's tongue could come out further over the gums but I've checked
the lower(lingual) frenulum and it appears to be stretchy and thin--though
I need to get A.Hazelbaker's tool and would like to take instruction for
assessment of this....soon.

Also,mom has a thin upper lip and baby has a definite receding chin.Two
factors which I have dealt with personally for 12 weeks of pain from my
firstborn, and have seen and assisted with in another case with creative
positioning.

My question: on talking about frenulums and suck training for a second time
with mom,she mentioned that her upper frenulum
(lingual?) was causing the gap between her teeth and at one time discussion
was made in her youth of possibly needing to cut it.

How does one assess the upper frenum and who would perform the frenotomy?
