I am more and more fascinated by herbs and the strong comeback they have
had in America. Here in Israel, they have kind of been in the closet, but
the young moms with whom I've spoken appear more and more willing to tell
me about what they - or their moms - do. One mom of Moroccan extraction
told me that they made some kind of lotion, cream, oil (not clear) out of
fennel and spread it over colicky baby's stomach. I thought that
interesting.
But to Melissa aka Lemon Balm or just plain Balm. I can't remember where I
heard this, but Melissa was recommended to me for menstrual cramps.
Nothing but nothing had ever helped me, but one cup or two at the most,
and that was the end of them. On the other hand, my daughter said that it
did not help her.... Maybe it helped me because it is supposedly a
vasodilator.... would this make it OK for breastfeeding?
