Laurie, i just want to wish you good luck with persuading HCPs  to let
these babies continue breastfeeding.
Many of the moms I see deliver in private hospitals & this has been the
bane of my life. A couple of years ago, I searched for appropriate
professional info & produced a handout for my moms to use in discussion
with paeds. I had it approved by a Malaysian Consultant neonatologist who
had also  attended Wellstart for 1 month.
        The result is frustrated parents. One paed looked at the references & told
the parents that this info. was not applicable to Asian babies!!!  Must
have gone to the same school that tells Malaysian women that Asian
perineums don't stretch!
