I've enjoyed the discussion about "advantages" of breastfeeding, but just
want to point out that my list of "advantages" was not titled as such, and
was actually simply an attempt to turn a formula company's advertising back
on itself. The original list was headed "new and improved...S-----c! and mine
was 'Can't improve on...Breastmilk!"
I did initially spell out the name of the formula (as the original
advertisement had done) and then filled in disadvantages of artificial baby
milk, but the overall tone of this struck me as negative and defensive. At
any rate, I can post nice positive things about breastmilk and breastfeeding
at the hospital with no problems, but suspect that my initial anti-formula
list would have been taken down fairly quickly.
