Sounds like severe milk allergy to me. The MD is treading on very thin ice,
risking anaphylaxis and severe gut damage. Banked donor human milk would be
my first choice. A different doctor would be even better. He should be
providing the REFERENCES to the parents for this course of action!!!!! A
second opinion from a pediatric allergist might be another good strategy.
Mom should be keeping up her milk supply by pumping, because I think this
baby will eventually be in dire need of his mom's milk, and probably sooner
rather than later.
