Toby wrote about a neonatololgist who claims the babies come up cold
from the delivery floor - his basis for objecting to the mothers breastfeeding on the delivery table - and wonders how others keep
*their* babies warm in hospital.
I encountered a similar situation when I was preparing for the birth
of my first child, back in 1975, except that it was the nurses who
were worried about the baby's temperature. My OB turned to them
with a smile, and said, "We have this new, high-tech piece of
equipment right here in this cupboard to deal with that problem,"
and he pulled out a blanket!
