Hi,

I'm a LLL Leader in Michigan.  I have a mother who has a 4 mos. old and
has had milk supply problems and is considering weaning.  Her husband
has chronic ulcerative colitis.  She has heard that breasfteeding may
decrease the risk of her son having this problem.  Does anyone know
where and how I can obtain the research information on this for her and
do you have any knowledge of this protective benefit from breastfeeding?

I searched the Lactnet archives, and found statements that said it may
provide protection, but this mother would like to read the research.
