I know of no connection between poor suck and urinary reflux. However reflux is usually detected after a work-up following a febrile urinary tract infection in the baby. Febrile UTI's in babies are basically considered pyleonephritis and if the child has had problems with pyleo's that would be a potential cause for poor growth.
