Pat,

My answer to "how much should my baby be taking from a bottle?" has always been
"2 to 5 ounces, depending on how often he eats." This is based on the studies
that indicated that the average intake for a 3-4 month old breastfed baby is
20-28 ounces/24 hours. This info seems to make my clients happy, and I make a
special point of telling them that breastfed babies take less breastmilk than
bottle-fed babies take formula, and to pay no attention to those big old 8 oz.
bottles the formula kids are taking.

How about Medela having all its Sanvita folks do an informal survey of their
working mothers and revise those tables? We could easily collect data on how
much the breastmilk-only babies take in their bottles/cups.
