Re: Pat Bucknell's question about how long breastmilk can be in breasts
after weaning. This question came up at the Feb. 1995 breast cancer and
breastfeeding conference at Rush (Chicago). It was almost like a
one-ups-person discussion. First woman said 1 year, next woman said 3
years, next woman reported 5 years, and final woman said after 5 years. All
had milk in their breasts, no pain, no didscomfort. Physician at the mike
at the time laughed and said we know little about this because most women
are not asked and when they are, they are often reluctant to "admit" their
experience if it was longer than a few weeks. Too many people assume
somethng is wrong if this occurs (galactorrhea, etc). In that conference,
women obviously were not so inhibited. It was an eye-opener for all of us.

Also, a worthy research subject (hint hint) :-)
