Brenda you wrote,
"Early this morning (when I was at work) I was reading the newest edition
of "The Womenly Art of Breastfeeding" (LLLI), and in the second chapter it
spoke of women who have dry skin to use purified Lanolin on their nipples
before delivery to help with possible soreness postpartum. It also spoke
of using Lanolin postpartum to help with moist healing of sore nipples.
BUT they also stressed the importance of a good latch above all else."

Some years ago, LLLI made the decision to endorse a product for the first
time--it was Lansinol, a lanolin product. It was a highly controversial decision
at that time. As a La Leche League leader at that time, I was opposed to it
and wrote LLLI in regard to my opposition. Endorsement of products certainly
maybe helpful to sustain an organization monetarily but they can create alot
of questions.
