 In defense of the blue bulb, it can be very helpful if used correctly!  It is
like anything, if you don't use it correctly, you can cause problems.  Do you
seriously think that suctioning vomitus from the naso-oropharyngeal airway is
going to cause breastfeeding failure?  When using saline nose drops for nasal
congestion, you DO NOT have to suction them out.
OBTW, the blue bulb is also useful for irrigating ear canals, as a water-gun
and basting turkeys!  ha!  <g>
