I have known mothers who claim no breast changes during pregnancy
and yes, occasionally there are milk supply problems. I have also
known women who had milk insufficiency with first baby but who
supplemented later and later with each succeeding baby. True
milk shortage is indeed rare but in my experience mothers with true milk
insufficiency seem to make more milk with each baby.
Also in my experience it seems common that newborns sleep a lot
on day one (probably exhaustion from the birth) and cry and feed
a lot on day two with milk becoming plentiful on day three or four.

Perhaps this mother just needs more confidence to know that
she can indeed meet her baby's needs even if she did not notice
any breast changes with this third pregnancy.
