Perhaps I am going out on a limb here (how unlike me;)) But I have been
reading that perimenopause is often the time *before* menopause, and that
many women suffer from a condition called "Estrogen dominance." It is
beleived by some that during the 5 or so years before estrogen levels
actually start to fall, as in actual full blown menopause, during
perimenopause, they actually rise, while the progesterone levels fall or
are by comparison, lower.

I have been having mild peri symptoms for a year or so (I am almost 42)
they occur just before my periods, which are coming closer together, rather
than farther apart, as in full blown menopause, and my now four year old
complains of a lack of milk at this time and tries desperate self "super
switching" to get what milk there is.

Is this significant? I don't know. I am assuming my estrogen levels are
high (the added migraines could be a result of this) and the resulting
tapering supply could be from this. The supply seems to rebound a little
after the menstrual period.

Just thinking out loud.

And just recently realizing that I am almost "too old" to have more babies.
