Actually I recall there was a study that showed that BF appears to decrease the likelihood of MS (this would be for the baby.)

Any stress can make MS worse, as BF creates a metabolic demand on the Mother that creates the possibility of BF making MS worse, but not a certainty.

But of course making and mixing bottles, feeding an infant, changing diapers, holding the baby to sooth the babies fussing are all things that can create moments of stress (and those of joy too) for the mother.

It is really the job of the neurologist to say, "BF may make your MS worse, but of course there are numerous advantages to BF for you and the baby as well. You should make the decision that you are most comfortable with."

She has the final say as to wether she weans not the neurologist. The neurologist has no more right to tell her she HAS to wean then he has the right to tell her what brand of car to drive.
