I got a call today about a mom who delivered two weeks ago. She is bottle
feeding her child because she was told she could not breastfeed. She had had
silicone breast implants that had leaked and been removed before she became
pregnant. Her physicians have advised her to pump her breasts for a year and
discard the milk in order to help rid her body of silicone. Has anyone heard of
this? Its new for me. What about the possibility of breastfeeding after having
had leaking silicone implants? Is there research that says moms should not
breastfeed? Thanks for any help in this matter. I am not sure she can stay
motivated to pump and dump for a year..............
