Hi All,

Permission to Post: The Mother weighed 58 kgs in Jan
2010 and now weighs 51 kgs and lost some 7 kgs in a very short span of
time She says she has a healthy appetite and has a balanced diet. Mother has already visited many doctors
complaining about pain in her legs particularly her thighs. She says she can
see a dent like or loss of fat or muscle in one of her thighs. Doctors have
performed all diagnosis including complete blood tests, urine and stools and
found nothing unusual. She has been advised to stop breastfeeding her 14 month
infant in order to recover from weight loss and cannot seem to find any other reason. The toddler nurses 3 times a day and is healthy.

Mother says if she can get any information about what her health condition with no findings may be pointing to so, she can save her nursing relationship. She is under pressure to wean from family and HCPs. Could this weight loss be related to breastfeeding and if no what else?

Thank You
