Dear Morgan, I'm on the ukmidwifery list if you want me to repost your
message, below, there. Just let me know and I'd be glad to do it.

I was at a Waterbirth International Conference in Portland Ore some years
ago when Jeannine Parvati Baker stood up at lunch and announced that all the
tea, coffee, sugar, etc packets that were used by the hotel were Nestle and
that we should be respecting the CODE and not using hotels where Nestle
products are purchased. She had already spoken to the hotel staff (I think
it was Marriot) and they had shown an interest in receiving info and stated
that they would comply once they were educated. I remember that incident
better than anything else I learned at the Conference. We have to be
vigilant about pointing out the creeping creeps.

Just to thank you all for your responses on Martek's DHA ingredients on
formula. (I hope I've put them to good use!)

And to let you know that whilst I contacted both ICM and the Royal College
of Midwives directly, to ask for help in understanding how Martek got to be
in the position of 'silver sponsor' at the Glasgow conference next week...
neither have replied.

So I've had to blog on without them.

After Rachel Myr's excellent posts on code issues, whereby past conferences
have been code compliant never mind code aware, and now conference
organisers seem to go "Code, huh?" I hope that anyone here in Lact-Net
planning on attending in Glasgow, manages to raise both issues.

For as our own Royce states at the end of every communication... "what your
permit, you promote".>>
