Sorry, Becky and others for confusing things about approximate volumes of
water - I tried to offer both equivalents by checking one of Anne's
measuring jugs, which appears to be confused! A more reliable source has
just informed us that there is a difference between pint volumes (UK or USA)
but not enough to worry about when I was attempting to just give
approximations. You are indeed right, Becky, that 2 pints is about 1 litre,
so the approximate volumes to use are about 2 pints or about 1 litre.
