I have been assigned to address a group of medical students (not MD's yet) on
OCT 30. The physician who normally does this will be giving the same lecture
at another university out of state. I am flattered that he chose me to take
his place, but I am a little nervous.
I have been given 2 hours and the lecture should focus on physiology and
benefits of breastfeeding verses the dangers in formula feeding. The outline
I was given gives only a brief mention of latch on. (I'm not to make LC's out
of them-- just turn them into breastfeeding zealots, I hope). Following the
lecture the students will accompany me or my partner on hospital round's in
groups of 2or3 over the next 6 months as part of their clinical component.
I have all the stuff from the Lactnet on the benefits of BrF ala K Dettwyler.
Any other suggestions?
