Dear Friends:
This was posted today, about how to modify a syringe:

"Pull out the plunger. Hold the pointy end under HOT water (we have a
spout on a coffee maker that makes instant-hot water to brew a cup of tea)
for a minute or so.
Then cut with heavy scissors. "

What is the legal liability of altering a device used to administer
medication into something that will be used in a way that it was never
intended or designed to be used? What if a mother gets injured by the cut
edge of the syringe abrading her skin?
What about using the product approved by the FDA for this use, the Evert'-It?
Or a breast pump? Or a baby?
       Warmly,
