Rebecca,
Sounds like this dad really wants to do the right thing, his concerns
are around the baby, getting the best for the baby, and he knows he has
to be patient. Those are all good things.
There are several good videos out for dads. There are also pamphlets
and booklets. I'm most familiar with "Breastfeeding Facts for Fathers",
put out recently by Platypus Media (PlatypusMedia.com) that talks
directly to fathers about the issues that most often concern them. (I
reviewed this booklet as it was being written, but have no financial
interest in it.)
JHL reviews booklets, and videos and they are indexed on the ILCA
website.

Are there any dads of exclusively bf babies he can talk with? That
might best way to help him put things in perspective.

Also, a reminder that he doesn't have to be patient for long. Before he
knows it the baby will be taking other food and will have more
complicated needs that he will be part of meeting.
