Debbie Tobin wqrote:
has anyone ever done the research or written an article on the correlation
between the decline of wet nurses and the incline of breastpumps??

seems that if wet nurses were culturally, medically, ethically, widely
accepted today we would be having lengthy discussions about women's dependence on
wet nurses....

Debbie, there's an excellent book on wet nurses in the US, published by Ohio State University Press. It's:
Golden, Janet. A social history of wet nursing in America.
I'm "nomail" at the moment, but catching up with old Lactnet posts.
