    Regarding the mother with recurrent mastitis:  have you had the
mother checked out for anaemia?  *Recurrent* mastitis is sometimes a
good way of picking up on that possibility.  There are also things in
this mother's history which make me suspicious that iron deficiency may
be an issue.  I would suggest looking into this possibility, urgently.
